I found this book cover in library. I like it, because it used color contrast to show the depth, and used signal images to show the meaning.

I like this book cover, because I think the successful thing was that the designer used the wood texture to show the similar meanings of the content in the book .

I picked up an design by David Wuthrich in parkland art gallery.

Subjective criticism: This is a design for American Red Cross illini Prairie chapter. In order to convey the meaning "If everyone works together, we can save a life." The designer applied metaphorical thinking to connect Red cross icon "+" and the mathematic symbol "+".

Objective criticism: The designer applied asymmetrical balance. The whole image is unified by group, emphasized by size. You can see the letters "You + I" in the middle is much larger than the words on the bottom. They really convey the meanings to viewers.

This time, I picked up one part of photo shop tutorials about brush. This tutorial told us how to use brush to create magic image.

Do you believe that when I watch some complex images like this tutorials samples before, I usually marvel at them " oh, my god , the artists are so professional that they could create some complicated images in this way."

Split Complementary color scheme sample!

I find this image from America artist. This is an example of using split complementary color scheme. Rather than pair color that are in opposite position on the color wheel, the artist completes the scheme using the two colors on either side of one of the ecomplements. You can see this image is dominated by yellow and violet. It is unified by repetition.
